DESIGN DECISIONS
For this project, we were challenged to get the first thing we threw away after the first class of the semester, and rethink it, redesign it, and reform it. I threw away a bill blister. Allan Chochinov, the teacher, took us on a whole quest during the class time. I pushed my project from being a bill blister, to fictional design, a campaign against gun violence, a story of war between pharmaceutical companies, an experience about prescribed drug overdose, and back again to a fictional design. It is amazing how we overlook things we through away everyday. I am proud of this project because it was not about design only, it was about history, culture, experience, advertising, and beyond."

CAN DESIGN TOUCH SOMEONE'S HEART?
"This was the first project for Stefan Sagmeister’s class. "I choose my audience to be the Speaker of the Parliament of Kuwait, Mr. Marzouq Al-Ghanim.
SEVEN DAYS IN DIABETES
For this project, I collected various data including medications, glucose level readings, physical activities, nutrition and sleeping periods for a week. Then, the data was translated into infographics to find out what is a connection between these variables.
ARNAA
Arnaa is a high-end hande international shoe brand for women. The brand identity was inspired by the signature of the designer Farah Sultan to highlight her as the artist who creates these handmade fine shoes.

FAILAKA: CONTEMPRARY ARCHEOLOGY
I finally got the chance to visit Failaka a few years ago. Having idolized that place for so long, I was washed with sadness at the ruins that stood before me.However, my designer eye soon got over that nostalgia and I began taking a closer look at my surroundings – the landscape, the abandoned playgrounds and the architecture of those lonely houses.
I started taking in the patterns, the harmony of color, the grids, the geometry, and the layout in those photos.
THE MAESTRO
I decided to construct a desk chair out of typewriters because I think they are complementing each other. I am fascinated by the whole notion of the gesture and the posture of the person who sits and types. I feel that there is an intimate moment between the person, and the type writer created by the sounds, the rhythms and the movement of the keys.

I constructed the chair considering myself as a musician playing jazz music, or an author writing a story, I built it as I go without planing it ahead.
AL-MIDAD
A classic word that means “ink” in Arabic, Al-Midad is a bilingual digital book that explores the journey of designing Arabic type. Through interactive demonstrations and engaging multimedia, this book will provide the building blocks and typographic resources for designers, design students, and educators to advance typographic contemporary practice.
SHARKS & RAYS
After going through many old Arabic manuscripts and illustrations, I created this cover design and illustration for a scientific book about Sharks and Rays of the Arabian/Persian Gulf.
THE BOOK
The artwork is a metaphoric installation of how a sacred text is preserved. This text dates back to the 1960s and keeps articles from Kuwaits’ Constitution. The article numbers are placed inside an ornament frame, the same shape used to separate Quran verses. The printed typeface was commonly used in official documents and publications during the last century.
KAYAN
KAYAN is a Kuwaiti architecture and construction company located in Kuwait. The identity of the company was designed to rhyme with the company vision and their projects which is distinguished by their innovative contemporary and vernacular concepts where the simplicity and functionality of modern design is combined with local traditions and history leading to works that inspire pride now and build the historical legacies of tomorrow.
